Learning Opportunities, Academic Integrity and Accountability

Education is a top priority for parents, employers and elected officials throughout the Triangle East region.

Johnston County has a public school system that has become a model for systems around the state. The adoption of accountability standards for students and teachers has seen test scores rise well above the state average. And the county has committed to building new facilities through the passage of several recent bond referendums to house the growing student population.

Another secondary school option is the Neuse Charter School, located in Smithfield.  The school was established in 2007 and provides instruction for grades K-12.

Abundant opportunities reach beyond school-age children. Students of all ages learn new skills, advance their careers, and enrich their minds by taking advantage of adult learning programs at Johnston Community College or one of the 50 major colleges or universities in Triangle.
