SMITHFIELD - Smithfield-Selma High School received word today that the International Baccalaureate Organization has granted the school authorization to begin teaching the International Diploma Programme next year.

While the wait has been grueling, the process certainly has been rewarding.  The school has set up a website at http://www.johnston.k12.nc.us/BSSS for information about the academic program. Applications will be available on Monday, February 25, from the site.

Applications will be accepted from rising freshmen, sophomores, and juniors through March 28.  All students should register for classes as usual.  Once applications have been reviewed and students accepted into the programme, a separate IB registration will be required.

Please contact Kevin Daughtry, IB Coordinator at SSS, if you have any further questions.
